It's subtle, but I don't want this to be the 'obvious spot colour'. I want people to barely notice it, and yet improve the visual appeal of the army. And on this model I agree that the brooch would be a nice place to put this spot colour, keep up the great work!SpaceCowboyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00338827221780206252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8999006694513130928.post-14153394447071918722011-09-16T19:29:21.721+01:002011-09-16T19:29:21.721+01:00Hi

The palette was deliberately chosen to be quite natural, skin, leathers, furs and so on, but I wonder would a contrasting spot colour make the army pop as a whole.Mr Saturdayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03092917415087033316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8999006694513130928.post-8814269375488939922011-09-16T14:32:41.385+01:002011-09-16T14:32:41.385+01:00If it is a color you think will work itself into y...If it is a color you think will work itself into your army or unit as a whole I say go for it. Thanks for the article on diffusers Viruk, that's a great tip.

One suggestion I got was to add a spot colour, as the palette is very earthy. I'm in two minds about it, what I was thinking was to add a blue jewel affect to the centre of the brooch under his neck. What do folks think?Mr Saturdayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03092917415087033316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8999006694513130928.post-67662435925597580842011-09-16T06:55:38.749+01:002011-09-16T06:55:38.749+01:00Great Fimir model, really like how you painted him...Great Fimir model, really like how you painted him, smooth and with neutral colours with some great details as the warpaint/tattos. I like your style - very clean painting and smooth highlights with some great additions (the freehand is simple yet it works really well).
I also think the picture could be a little better as this one has a bit too much of yellow hue (probably it was taken at night). You might want to try using diffusers. Here's a nice article about it I've recently come across: http://www.dieseldm.com/2011/05/photographing-warmachine-miniatures-part-1/Virukhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13682344308400039839noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8999006694513130928.post-22655005325514364582011-09-16T01:55:17.150+01:002011-09-16T01:55:17.150+01:00Looks great!
