The Mumblings on Point Hammered
Morning folks. I was out in my garden yesterday, listening to Podcasts, as I am want to do. While listening to the excellent Point Hammered I was stopped firmly in my tracks as at 1:12:30 the hosts, Johnny Hasting and the Rodge began the blog post of the month segment. The subject of which was my very own Fimir of Albion army, about which they had some very nice things to say. I'm feeling a bit chuffed, as anyone who has seen the work of either of these guys knows they produce some pretty goddam fantastic work, such as the Bull Ogres and the Cthulhu daemon army, so praise from these guys is praise indeed. It made my day, to say the least.
A better man would be far too modest to mention such a thing on his own blog.
Sooo... if you like your Warhammer podcasts on the laid back yet slightly salty side, and I do, check out Point Hammered. They also run the You Magnificent Bastards blog, which is chock full of tutorials, army projects and general hobby goodness.

Wargaming Ireland Podcast
The Wargaming Ireland podcast has recently kicked off with a new series. With Nigel, Lenny and Eoin giving us the latest on the Irish wargaming scene, it really is great to see the podcast take off again, as I think an Irish focused wargaming podcast is badly needed. The three lads have a nice dynamic between them and make for good listening, but then Nigel does have the sultry tones of a late night radio host.
I fervently hope the lads keep at it, as over the last few years now the Irish wargaming scene has really started to coalesce, with a lot of clubs becoming aware of each other's existence and more events to meet them at. The Wargaming Ireland podcast can only help the Irish gaming community continue to grow and thrive. (We also got a nice mention for KnaveCon in episode two. Cheers lads.)
With the TLC and NWG being something of a nexus for wargaming in Ireland I'm expecting great things. You hear that lads, GREAT THINGS.

Podcasts - End of an Era
I do like my warhammer podcasts. I listen to a fair few, GarageHammer, Bad Dice, Heelanhammer, Painting Tabled and one or two others. When you listen to a podcast for a while, you get invested in the people presenting, so it's a bit of a sad day that Chris Barnette of Garagehammer has decided to leave the podcast, and Dan Heelan and Wayne Kemp are closing up shop at Heelanhamer. I'm sorry to see them go, Chris and Dave of Garagehammer were a great duo, as were Wayne and Dan of Heelanhammer. Dave is still soldiering on with Garagehammer, and I wish him well, Ben Curry went on from strength to strength after Ben Johnson left, so hopefully Dave will do the same.
A sad day indeed.
