Fimir - Morgayne the Meargh
After some final touches and the addition of some foetid swamp water, here's the withered, saggy leader of the Fir Domhan, Morgayne. She's not as scary as a chaos lord, or as nimble as a dark elf sorceress, but she's got a bus pass in there somewhere and she's not afraid to use it. In the end the addition of the staff, ogham scraps of parchement (which do actually say something) and a spot of fancy basing really helped jazz up a very old model. Many thanks to all those who supplied feedback, much appreciated! She's given me an idea how all the other old school fimir will look, and I'm very excited to get started on nobles, fianna fimm and the dirach. The question now is, do I do the fianna fimm next, or the half-dead?
Anyone interested in Morgayne's background can read it here.

It's Bea Arther!
ReplyDeleteNice job, love the scrolling and swamp water, cool staff too
Fanks!
DeleteWell done! I especially like the details on the base and the freehand work.
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDeleteExcellent stuff, I know you were a tad nervous about the water effects, they came out fantastically well!
ReplyDeleteCheers Craig, the water did turn out well, in the end...
DeleteNice work again. Last I looked was some weeks back, and it seems you've really made great progress. Shame about the owl, after the discussion and research about it I'm almost sad to see it went by the wayside in the end. Still, it's removal doesn't seem to have harmed the model itself any!
ReplyDeleteAh, the owl. Truly, I don't know whether I made the right call or not, but I think the model may have been too busy with it, considering the staff has quite a lot going on. I try to draw the eye back across the model with the skulls in the pool and the freehand on the hem of the robe, so the owl might have been a step too far...
