Giant Spiders - The Arachnarok
Continuing GW's slew of giant beasties, look at this guy. You'd need more than a rolled-up newspaper for this fellow. I have to say, at first glance I'm loving it, though it's waaayy too big for the base. It's a 95 piece kit. I'm wondering how I could work it into my vampire counts army...

A zombie spider? I would love to see that. It could have big parts of it's carapace torn off, with necrotic flesh inside.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like an awesome kit. I pre-ordered my book today.
It would be quite the challenge. Hollow out the eyes, crack up the exo-skeleton, add some undead crew. I have a liche lord sitting on a throne who would go great on top there. Add an old screaming skull catapult, a few nicely placed skellies and hey presto. Only problem is, what the hell would I play it as?! The only thing that comes close in size is a zombie dragon, which still seem too tiddly for this guy.
ReplyDeleteThats going to be pretty tough to use in an undead army... I really can't see it fitting 100% unless you are converting undead Orcs?
ReplyDeleteI fear you're right, goshdarnit. I guess I might have to wait until it's the vampires turn to get their huge gribbly monster.

ReplyDeleteLol - brilliant ! That put a smile on my face. Thanks,
Sigmar
Or just do a MASSIVE unit filler. -__^ Admittedly, it currently doesn't fit into the VC army that well. Be an awesome project though.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a great looking model if I could pull it off. Hmm. Tempting. I'd already decided to paint the chitin in a pale tone, to make it look bleached, as if the spider has been dead for an age, and replace at least one of the legs with wood/metal lashed to the body, as if the necromancers had to replace missing parts. Unit filler, that would be some filler. I am, however, looking for an undead ship for naval warhammer. I wonder. Swimming spider? Hollow inside the skeleton. Cannons poking out of that shell would look pretty cool...
